WELCOME

Our desire is to see kids become more like Jesus and join him on mission as they engage with God’s Word, form healthy friendships and apply Biblical truths to everyday life. We have an incredible staff and serve team who are excited to know your kids by name and partner with you as we guide them to be lifelong followers of Jesus. We create age-specific environments for your kids to thrive in each and every weekend.

SERVE
WITH US

Be part of the community that influences the future of the next generation.

In all of our serving areas, we help kids experience God in age-appropriate ways through worship, large group Bible stories, and small group activities. It’s a fun and easy way to invest in the next generation.

We encourage every parent who has kids in our ministry to serve with us at least a few times a year.

SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

FAQs

WHAT CURRICULUM DO YOU USE?

We use a curriculum called Hyfi from Lifeway Christian Resources.

    • Kindergarten – 5th Grade | Hyfi gets kids engaged with a fun, high-energy large group experience, including Bible teaching videos coupled with our in person hosts to help kids connect the main idea each week. Hyfi is built around 12 biblical truths to help kids understand their identity in Christ. Kids connect on a deeper level with their friends and leaders in their team time discussions and activities to help bring home the main idea and to help kids learn more about who Jesus is.
    • Infants – PreK | Hyfi engages preschoolers with a fun, high-energy experience created just for them! Trustworthy Bible teaching is wrapped in fun monthly themes. We know that fun and games always serve a deeper purpose—to connect preschoolers to Jesus. When preschoolers cheer for a team, work together playing a game, or learn alongside their friends, they begin to experience a sense of belonging, which opens their ears and hearts to listen to spiritual truths.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS SPECIAL NEEDS?

We have our Buddy Program at our Littleton Campus every Sunday at 9:15 and 11 AM. We strive to meet the needs of kids birth – 5th grade who need extra assistance by matching them with a “Buddy,” a trained Serve Team member who will get to know you and your child and provide needed assistance during service. We desire for you and your child to experience faith-filled, authentic inclusion.

To be part of our buddy program, all families must register and fill out an intake form. Families will be notified once their child is accepted into the program and we can provide a consistent trained serve team. To learn more about this ministry or to fill out an intake form, click here.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL SERVICE LOOK LIKE FOR MY CHILD?

Each of our age-specific environments are intentionally designed to be welcoming and engaging for kids and help them learn more about Jesus in fun and meaningful ways that are developmentally appropriate. In Preschool – 5th Grade, kids will participate in team time discussions and small group activities where they unpack the scripture with their friends and learn sound biblical truth, participate in a time of worship, large group Bible teaching, and so much more. Our Infants + Toddler environments are designed to focus on the basics and help kids feel safe and comfortable as they go through play-based activities which include, arts and crafts, games, worship music, and reading Bible stories.

WHAT DOES SAFETY + SECURITY LOOK LIKE?

  • Safety and security are a top priority for Mission Hills and especially within our Kids Ministry environments. We take all necessary measures to ensure we are keeping kids and serve team safe.
  • Anyone who serves in our church must go through a screening and training process before joining a team.
  • All adults 18 and older go through a background check when they apply to serve. Additionally, every two years we run a new background check if someone wishes to continue serving in our church.
  • Mission Hills has a trained security team roaming each campus and maintains great relationships with local law enforcement for ongoing training and support.
  • Upon check-in each week, your family will receive a security tag that you will present to your child’s leader at pick up.

WANT TO SERVE IN KIDS MINISTRY?

Our Kids Ministry does not exist without our Serve Team! Being part of the Kids Ministry team is a unique and special opportunity to use your gifts to serve the church and be part of an incredible community.

Learn more about our serve opportunities.

WHO WILL BE MY CHILD'S CLASSROOM LEADER?

Our serve team are on a rotation schedule and generally serve 2 times a month at a specific service time and in a specific classroom. This means that you and your child will get to know a couple familiar faces in their classroom to help build better connection and community.

CAN MY KIDS BRING A FRIEND TO CHURCH WITH THEM?

Of course! We love when kids and their families are inviting others to join them at church. There is so much power in community and kids growing together with their friends.

If your child invites a friend to church, let us know so we can be praying for them!
