Listen to God's Voice Women's Fall Event featuring Lisa Harper

Women’s Fall Event featuring Lisa Harper
Worship with Justin Adams

This world is full of noise…voices competing for attention in our lives. Your mind processes 40 thoughts per second, that’s 3.5 million thoughts a day. The question becomes: how do we filter out the sounds around us and tune our hearts to the voice of God? When we are quiet before the Lord, reading His word and intentionally listening to Him, He is faithful to guide us. Join us for a weekend filled with fun, laughter and the reminder of God’s undeniable love for us. Let’s be intentional about our practice of reading His word and becoming familiar with His voice.

Lisa Harper is a master storyteller, sought-after Bible teacher, and author known for her authenticity. Her writing and speaking overflows with colorful pop culture references that connect the dots between the Bible and modern life. She combines sound scriptural exposition with relatable anecdotes and comedic wit. Lisa is a mother to Missy, who she adopted from Haiti.

FRIDAY EVENING
Money, Materialism, and Me
Jen Oshman

It’s no secret we live in a world obsessed with the idea of me… our possessions, appearance, and friendships become the markers we use to define success and worth. What does it look like for us to live well in community, for the glory of God and the good of all people? When we steward our resources and our lives well, this is possible.

Jen Oshman is wife to Mark, mom to four beautiful daughters, an author, missionary, pastor’s wife, blogger, and podcaster. She is a native of Denver, Colorado but has lived globally teaching, leading, discipling and counseling women in Okinawa, Japan followed by church planting in the Czech Republic. She now resides in Parker, Colorado where she and her husband planted Redemption Parker. Jen continues to write and speak. She is especially passionate about encouraging women in deepening their faith and growing a Biblical worldview.

Picking Jesus Over Everything
Lisa Whittle

We all want to live simpler lives and to put Jesus first – and we struggle with both. While we are busy strategizing new ways to streamline our calendars and clean out our closets of the clutter, what really needs attention is what will give us long-term clarity and peace — the priority order of Jesus over everything in our lives.

Lisa Whittle is an author, speaker, podcaster, and ministry launcher. In her own words, “If you are okay with feisty works-in-progress, we will be friends. If you love Jesus, we already have things in common. If neither of those things are true, you are still welcome…I’ve been loving Jesus for a long time, but I haven’t always served Him. At 6, I gave Him my heart and at 23, I surrendered my entire life to sharing His good news. I will never get over the joy of it all, but mostly just Him. My family is my safe place. I have 5 best friends: my husband of 27 years, my 3 kids, and my daughter-in-law. Good food, good conversation, and a good sale are my love languages. My life isn’t easy or perfect, but it’s beautiful.”

Shifting our Gaze from Anxiety to Peace
Whitney Lowe

We spend a lot of time looking down. Mostly at our phones. Sometimes at ourselves. The artificial blue light in our eyes makes us anxious about the world. It makes us chase trends that have nothing to do with who we want to be. It causes us to put time, energy, and brain space into what won’t last. Let’s consider what it would take for us to shift our gaze, literally, and find the peace we are looking for.

Whitney Lowe is an author who wants to see young women excited about God’s work: in the Bible, in history, in the world, and in them. She writes and creates on Instagram @ScribbleDevos, a project born from the realization that young women simply do not interact with the Bible enough to be changed by its truth. Whitney is passionate about disrupting the toxic scroll of social media with hope, peace, and light straight from Scripture. She lives in Denver, Colorado, with her husband, who is a pastor, and their two young children.

Hosting Simplified
Panel

When it comes to inviting people into our home, we have over complicated it and even become resistant to it. When asked what keeps women from hosting others in their home the most common answer is, “I’m embarrassed about my home.” We’ve managed to convince ourselves that unless our home and the meal is “Pinterest” perfect we can’t invite others in. Come hear from a panel of women about the joys of sharing your life and home exactly as it is. The ladies will share ideas on ways to simplify hosting and rediscover the beauty of simple, the heart behind sharing life with others, and the joy it can bring you and your family.

SATURDAY MORNING
Be a Friend and Get out of Lonely
Jen Oshman

Friendships are complicated and messy. They require courage to start and intentionality to sustain. We all desire to be known and loved, but we often settle for the isolation we create. We are made to belong to the Lord and to each other, and there is good news… the gospel is bigger than our differences and our loneliness.

The Illusion of Control
Elisa Morgan

If we are honest, we all want to be in control. We want to plan our lives, relationships, jobs, children, home, spouses, neighbors…. the list goes on. The problem is, the more we strive to micromanage the world around us, the more anxious we feel and the less joy we experience. We were not designed to be in control, and that’s a good thing! We are offered freedom in Christ and the ability to live life to the full. It’s ours for the taking if we learn how to let go of the illusion and embrace the truth.

Elisa Moran is living really…really living with a zeal for everyday authenticity that expresses an ever-growing faith and vibrant embrace of all life brings. She has authored more than twenty-five books on mothering, spiritual formation, and evangelism, and for twenty years, served as CEO of MOPS International. As a co-host of the syndicated radio program Discover the Word Elisa offers a daily fifteen-minute real-time conversation around the written and living Word of God. You can also find Elisa co-hosting the podcast God Hears Her. Elisa is married to Evan (for over forty years), they have two grown children and three grandchildren who live near them in Denver, Colorado. Mia, a Jack Russell Terrier, shadows her every move.

Jesica Marican

You can love the space where you live. Hear tips and suggestions for keeping your home a place of calm instead of chaos from the kitchen to your closet.
