We are so glad that you could join us for the “At Home” version of the Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop. The videos below were created so that you could walk through each step of the blanket-making process. You can watch each section as many times as you want and then move on the next step when you are ready.
Before you get started
1 – Supplies you will need:
You can use lots of different types of yarn to make this blanket and they can range in price. We used the brand Yarn Bee from Hobby Lobby. You will need between 6-7 skeins of yarn for this project depending on how large you want your blanket to be.

Yarn Weight: 7 – Jumbo
Fiber: 100% Polyester
Length: 28 yards per skein
2 – Find a work area:
You will need a large table to work on. Some people like to stand while making their blanket so a high countertop may be ideal. Others like to sit while making their blanket so a table will work too.
Let’s get started!
Remember this is for fun! Relax and let this be fun. The first three rows are the hardest so spend your time getting those right. Then it will be a breeze!
Step 1 – Twist/Twist
Step 2 + 3 – Pull Through and Row #1
*Hint – continue to pull the yarn through and keep it on the top or bottom don’t switch back and forth
*Hint – if your loops aren’t laying nice and flat it might be too tight
Step 4 – You are doing great!
We skipped Step #4, so go ahead and proceed to the next step.
Step 5 + 6 – The turn and Row #2 + #3
Step 7 – How to connect your next skein
Step 8 + 9 – Finishing the last row and tying the ends off
*Hint – your last row will need to be bigger than the rest, make sure your loops aren’t too big or too small. Don’t be afraid to spend time adjusting the loops so that when you pull them over each other it lays nice and flat.
