Blended FamiliesBlended families are a way of life. In the world and in the church. In the Bible there are many examples of blended families. God does not label blended families as second class. In fact, he used the members of blended families to do mighty things. At Mission Hills Church we are driven to meet people where they are and invite them to “Influence their world for God.” This is the same for singles or married people, young or old, traditional or blended families. However, things work differently within blended families that sometimes prevent us from being the best husband or wife, mom or dad, stepmom or stepdad; limiting our ability to honor God and influence our world. We want to help. It is our desire to help you (through God’s grace) remove any guilt or shame you may feel by being a blended family. God loves you just where you are—and so do we. We want to help you understand family dynamics that are unique to blended families—there’s a bunch. We want to laugh and cry with you. We want to help preserve your current marriage and teach you how to build walls around your “total” family in a way that honors God. We want to “Do Life” with you. We are planning on hosting a Stepfamily Conference November 12 and 13 at the new church facility.
